Srinagar: Intense clashes and protests were reported from uptown Hyderpora area post Friday prayers today.

chairman, had called for protests today against thrashing of JKLF
chief Muhammad Yasin Malik and detention of his amalgam leaders.
Witnesses said that deputy of Geelani,
Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, led Friday prayers at Hyderpora Jamia Masjid
following which he addressed people outside Jamia Masjid.
“Heavy pro-freedom sloganeering followed
by stone pelting happened at Hyderpora,” a witness said, “forces
resorted to tire gas shelling.”
Meanwhile, reports coming from North
Kashmir’s Sopore area said that clashes erupted in main chowk. “Stone
pelting and heavy shelling took place post Friday prayers,” a local
said.
