Farooq Rehmani has strongly condemned the arrest of party's Chief
organiser, Imtiaz Shah, and Molvi Basheer Ahmad, Mass Movement leader

revengeful and victimization policy of the Indian authorities against

He said Indian rulers and their agents were spreading communal venom
and sowing seeds of religious fanaticism not only in India but also in
the internationally disputed and vulnerable State under her occupation
to obstruct road to a peaceful and just solution of the dispute. He
warned that by India's inflammatory speeches and steps including
provocative firing along the Line of Control on the inhabitants of
Azad Jammu and Kashmir, India would be held responsible and had to pay
the price for military aggression and adventurism. He urged upon
release of all political detainees and their immediate transfer from
outside jails to Kashmir.

ISLAMABAD : Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People's Freedom League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has strongly condemned the Indian troops brutal cordon and search operations, killing, restrictions and large scale arrests of Hurriyat leaders, ahead of their Republic Day in Kashmir, which the Kashmiris observe as a black day every year across the territory.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement in Islamabad said that the Indian troops military operations, NIA actions on Hurriyat leaders and killing innocent people of Jammu and Kashmir to stop peaceful protest demonstrations on 26 January, itself is testimony that Indian regime is failed and frustrated in front of peoples struggle of self-determination.<!--more-->
He said that like the so-called accession by the fugitive Dogra Maharaja of the State in October 1947, the constitution of India was forced on the territory on 26 January 1950.
Although India, he recalled, had herself gone to UN to seek the opinion of the World Body and the later had urged the parties to hold referendum on the future status of J&K under the auspices of the United Nations. Therefore, India had no mandate to bring the State under the umbrella of its constitution.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said that India followed undemocratic and repressive ways and means since the very day of annexation of the State. He pointing out that India's accesses on the Kashmiri people is responsible for martyring millions of the Muslims across Jammu and Kashmir during the past 68 years.
"The killings by Indian troops in Kashmir continue to increase and there is no sign that India is willing to accept any peaceful negotiated settlement of the dispute with Pakistan and the Kashmiris," he remarked.He strongly condemned the killing of three youth including a teenage boy Sharik Ahmad Mir and injuring of several girls critically in a brutal military operation in Shopian yesterday. He paid rich tributes to them and express sympathy to their families. He also paid glowing tributes to martyrs of Handwara massacre in 1990; day back in 1990 Indian troops martyred 55 Kashmiris in Handwara.

Farooq Rehmani pays tribute to Shaheed Yousuf Zangi; urges India to stop pursuing anti-Kashmir agenda
Srinagar, January 22: The Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has urged India to desist from changing the demographic composition of Jammu and Kashmir, perpetuating state terrorism, and give the right of self-determination to the State people under the UN resolutions of plebiscite.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in his telephonic address on the 17th martyrdom anniversary of prominent mujahid leader, Muhammad Yousuf Zangi, called on the UN Secretary General to implement the UNCIP resolutions on the question of holding plebiscite in the former autonomous princely state of Jammu and Kashmir. The telephonic speech was delivered to an audience which gathered today in Bandipora on the occasion of commemorating martyrdom of ex Al Fatah Force chief Muhammad Yousuf Chopan AKA Zangi.

MUZAFFARABAD/Srinagar, Dec 15: On the 23rd martyrdom anniversary of renowned freedom-fighter and commander, Abdul Khaliq Ganai Shaheed AKA Jamal Afghani, glowing tributes were paid to him by the people in the Indian Occupied Kashmir and Muzaffarabad (AJK). People in Kaloosa Bandipora–his home town offered Fateh at his grave and Quran-Khawani.
In Muzaffarabad, a function to commemorate his martyrdom was organized by the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League (JKPFL) in which speakers threw light on the life and struggle of the great patriot of Kashmir who began his political struggle for freedom of Kashmir in 1970s as a student and attained martyrdom during the prime of his youth.

Summery: Addressing a gathering of students on nationalism programme, a JNU professor Nivedita Menon, who teaches at the Centre for Comparative Politics and Political Theory at the International Studies school, said, “We believe that democracy (Rashtraraj) is a very strong thing, but if it was so strong then why few students, who raised such (anti-India) slogans were arrested.” She went on to say that, “If such incidents happen then the democracy is not so strong as we claim because tanks and guns are used to keep the democracy intact and strong.”
Professor Menon also made some remarks on Kashmir.
”After Independence, the accession of Kashmir was done following the India-Pakistan war on the pretext that a plebiscite will be conducted when the situation gets back to normal and since then it (janmat sangrah) has not happened,” she reportedly said in her speech.
