Army Chief’s statement reflects truth and courage: Farooq Rehmani

Islamabad: Senior Hurriyet leader and Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has warmly welcomed, Army Chief General Raheel Sharif’s pointed and timely response to his Indian counter—part’s threat of a short war “the armed forces of Pakistan were fully ready to thwart any external aggression.” The message on the Golden jubilee of 1965 invasion by India on Lahore and Pakistan’s befitting answer on the long international border and the Cease-Fire Line of Jammu and Kashmir, and about Kashmir and its peoples’ right to self-determination reflects urges and aspiration of the Kashmiris.

He said that at a time when India had unleashed terror and state-terrorism along the borders and inside Kashmir to curb the movement of freedom in Jammu and Kashmir, General Sharif’s message looked in the right direction besides Pakistan taking India’s violations of LoC and the working boundary to the Security Council. He said COAS’s message on Kashmir and regional disputes must be heard loudly by all which were working against the sovereignty and integrity of Pakistan and creating hurdles in the freedom of Jammu and Kashmir from India.
