Seminar on the anniversary of Shaheed-e-Watan Jamal Afghani

Bandipora—Kashmir, Dec 14: Rich tributes were paid to the struggle and sacrifices of the renowned political leader and guerrilla commander of the freedom struggle, Abdul Khaliq Ghanai Shaheed, known by nom-de-guerre of Jamal Afghani, on his 22nd martyrdom anniversary in the Jammu and Kashmir. At a seminar organized by the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom league, in his native town district Bandipora, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a telephonic address to the seminar said that Shaheed-e-Watan Jamal Afghani ranked amongst the pioneers of the armed freedom struggle as a great dedicated and honest freedom fighter, who laid down his life for the cause of Kashmir’s liberation from India.

Referring to the dialogue between Pakistan and India he said the real thorny conflict of this region was Kashmir that couldn’t be made secondary to any other issue and required active involvement of the Kashmir as the first party of the dispute to arrive at a lasting solution in line with the aspirations of the people. He highlighted the right of self-determination of the people of Kashmir and said the Indian regime, with her more than seven hundred thousand army was trampling down human rights of the people and killing or imprisoning them with the intention of suppressing the freedom struggle. But the idea of freedom was in the people’s minds and blood while India had lost its future in Kashmir.
On this occasion Muhammad Ramzan Khan General Secretary, of J&K People’s Freedom League and other party leaders Shoukat Ahmad Butt, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan and Muhamad Akbar Mir, addressed the gathering. Muhammad Ramzan Khan paid glowing tributes to the sacrifices of Jamal Afghani and said the struggle of the people had a bright future and every section of the society was committed to the cause of Kashmir. Referring to the role of the youth he said they couldn’t be conquered or defeated because they were highly spirited and determined to take the ongoing movement to its logical goal.
