Muhammad Farooq Rehmani applauds Pakistan Army Chief's reaffirmation of support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir

Islamabad, 1st May: Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman J&K People's Freedom League and ex-Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJ&K, has praised the Pakistan Army Chief General Syed Aasim Muneer's statement, which reiterates Pakistan's strong support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their fight for self-determination and pledge to safeguard Pakistan's sovereignty at all costs.

In light of the army chief's reassurance, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani expressed hope that the government will take all necessary international measures to thwart Indian attempts to alter the Muslim majority character of Jammu and Kashmir and seek practical assistance for implementing the UNCIP resolutions on Kashmir.

On the International Day of Labourers, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani also commemorated the sacrifices of the forgotten working class of Kashmiri Shalbafs (weavers). He recounted how at least 26 labourers were brutally repressed and tortured to death on 29 April 1865, for raising their voice and demanding wages for their work. Sheikh Gh. Rasool and Ali Baba were tortured to death inside the Shergarhi Palace Srinagar, while about 100 shalbaf labourers received serious injuries, and others, including Kuda Lal and Sona Shah as sympathizers, were imprisoned in the Baho Fort of Jammu.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani highlighted that the Shicago riots of workers for their fair working conditions are similar to the 1886 episode, but the comparable working-class tragedy has been neglected. He emphasized that, as the oppressed people of Kashmir, they equally commemorate both tragic events and urged the international community and the trade union movement to mark 29 April 1865 as an international day to remember the tragic conditions of Kashmiri laborers, peasants, and workers, that they were facing in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Eid Message Unites Muslims: Muhammad Farooq Rehmani

Islamabad, April 20: Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People's Freedom League and former Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJ&K Chapter, in his Eidul-Fiter Message today congratulated the Muslims and prayed for the unity of the Umma against all odds , Islamophobia menace, freedom of Kashmir, Palestine, Rohingya, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, India and wherever in the East or West, the Muslims were subjected to political or economic slavery, oppression and suppression .

He prayed to Allah to usher a new chapter of hope and success and stability for the Muslim countries to withstand every internal or external assault on their unity, stability, and sovereignty . Muslim nations and states be relieved of political, economic  and cultural and other mountainous threats and the Muslim world gain strength and prowess to defeat the war thrusted to deprive them of their economic growth and commercial and scientific advancements.

He condemned India's continued bloody war on Jammu and Kashmir Muslims majority character to suppress their peaceful struggle for the right of self-determination.

He appealed to the UN and other international forums to support their legitimate struggle and prevent it from changing the demography of the State in favour of a microscopic Hindu minority. He said the youth of Kashmir were arrested every day and lodged in different far-flung jails of India, while other leaders were facing life sentences in the Tihard jail on flimsy grounds.

He lamented that the present day Kashmir was a beautiful prison, surrounded by an iron curtain of over 9 hundred thousand military and paratroopers, the inhabitants inside the Occupied region were living a life of suffocation due to surveillance and restrictions on press and platform. " hundreds of media men, photo journalists and human rights activists are facing fake criminal charges in different jails ", he disclosed.

He stated the mental and physical condition of Jammu and Kashmir Muslims was worst under India's Hindutva regime, than to be described and the only way forward to avid a catastrophic war in the region was to begin an international dialogue to fulfill the international promises for the right of self-determination, of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

He demanded release of all the Kashmiri detainees and APHC leaders from the Indian jails and said that the restrictions on Jamia Masjid prayers and Mirwaiz Umer Farooq under house arrest be lifted and the earliest. The UN should play it's role in this regard.

He lamented over the plight of the Indian Muslims, where the Modi regime had begun a campaign of target killings of the Muslim leaders, while the lynching campaign of the Muslims at the mass level was already going on across the country. Under the given conditions, Indian Muslims needed all peaceful help from the world  ommunity to  secure their fundamental rights as citizens of the State. Pakistan under mutual understandings and relevant bilateral and UN assurances should take up tragic episodes with the Indian government and leave no stone unturned to save the future of about 215  Indian Muslims.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in his Eid message    referred equally to genocide of Palestinian Arabs in the Occupied Arab territories and Jerusalem and said latest cycle of killings of Palestinians and restrictions in the Al Aqsa Mosque on Palestinians by the Zionist regime was a brazen violation of the rights of the people of Palestine and the UN resolutions on Palestine. He said that Palestine belonged to the Arabs of the Palestine  and the only means to achieve peace in the ME was to restore an Independent state of Palestine.

He congratulated all the subjugated Muslims and paid tribute to the struggle of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Palestine, and others and also 215 million Indian Muslims,  who were offering great sacrifices for their basic rights under the Indian Constitution. He enjoined them and other oppressed minorities of India to get united under a common program to fight for their fundamental constitutional rights and be successful.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani condemns anti-Muslim violence in India and calls for UN intervention

Islamabad, April 17: Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman of the J&K People's Freedom League and ex-Convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJ&K, has stated that "Indian Muslims are being slaughtered like animals in their own homeland by the RSS gangs without any question by the world." Rehmani made these comments in a condemnation statement after the broad daylight and live TV murder of UP's four-time lawmaker Atiq Ahmad and his brother Ashraf Ahmad, who were being escorted for medical check-up hand-cuffed.

The assailant raised anti-Muslim slogans while the police failed to protect the two ex-lawmakers, claiming that the killers posed as journalists.

Rehmani warned that horrifying reports of anti-Muslim violence were coming daily from across India and Jammu and Kashmir. He further stated that on one hand, in the IIOJ&K, Kashmiris were targeted for demanding the right of self-determination, and demographic changes were made to change the Muslim majority character of the state. On the other hand, the fault of Indian Muslims was their belief in Islam.

Regarding the Pulwama attack of 2019, Rehmani stated that the revelations made by Satya Pal Malik, the former governor of the IIOJ&K, had vindicated Pakistan's stance and testified that the drama of Pulwama was a part of the terrorism bogey repeatedly used for enacting fake encounters against the youth of Kashmir.

Rehmani claimed that India was responsible for violating promises made with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and international humanitarian law. It had also failed to protect the rights of Indian Muslims according to the Nehru-Liaqat Pact. Therefore, under the given conditions, Pakistan should take the untoward situation of Indian Muslims to relevant international forums, and the right of self-determination should be once again raised in the UN.

He demanded that, in view of the horrifying picture of India, RSS members and sympathizers should not be allowed to enter Kashmir under any pretext. Rehmani expressed fear that RSS gangs could begin large-scale killing sprees with the help of the BJP government.

G-20 meeting has no relevance for Kashmir..(Muhammad Farooq Rehmani)

Islamabad, April 12: " It has always been noted and acknowledged by members of the world body that Kashmir is a disputed territory and its future has remain unsettled since, while the people of Jammu and Kashmir have been martyred in large numbers and thousands put behind bars during the last 32 years for rising peacefully against India's terror, tyranny and human rights atrocities in and along the besieged region of the Kashmiris, so there's is no sense in calling an international conference in the region, said

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman J&K People's Freedom League and ex-Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference to bring the disputed and volcanic situation of the region in focus. He said India was hoodwinking the world opinion, particularly the G-20 members for its nefarious regional designs and trying to convey the message that all was well in the IIOJ&K. The reality, he emphasised was totally different and the inhabitants of the area were under surveillance and siege from all sides; all basic civil rights and fundamental freedoms remain strangulated there , thousands were in jails all across India, press and platform was taboo for the people since the day of its merger with India in 2019. He stated India not only violated bilateral agreements with Pakistan but it did not abide by the two CHR Commission reports of 2018 and 2019 on Jammu and Kashmir and continued to ridicule and flouting the international law, UN resolutions on Kashmir and other international obligations with regard to suggestions for the solution of the dispute. India was following a catch and kill policy and search operations in Kashmir were carried out to terrorise the majority of the population and to detain young men in as many numbers as possible. He said, nobody was safe and police intelligence agencies were chasing youth with ill intentions in their mind. Students and youth affiliated with political parties or not or civilians were being targeted in every part of the IIOJ&K.

He appealed to the UN to take cognizance of the threatening situation of Kashmir and invoke its relevant resolutions and rules to give relief to the suppressed population of the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time he urged on the Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir (OiC), to call a conference on the latest developments , especially the G-20 meeting called by India in Srinagar , which was in total violation of the international resolutions as Kashmir was an internationally recognised dispute, he maintained.

Corridor & religious tourism misleading proposals on Kashmir.. Muhammad Farooq Rehmani

Islamabad: " when India has trampled all the principles of humanity in Kashmir, broken international laws and resolutions, brazenly changing the Kashmir history, demography, culture & religion, running a brutal campaign of killings and lynching against the Indian Muslim , demolishing mosques , erasing every vestige of Islam and Islamic history in the regions of Kashmir and India , perpetuating its ban on religious congratulations and prayers in Jamia-Mosque Srinagar and giving Hindutva goons liberty without licence to slaughter Muslims in the name of Gaow Mata Rekhsha( Cow protection) in India, what sense is there in religious tourism and corridor diplomacy along the LoC or in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, says Muhammad Farooq Rehmani Chairman J&K People's Freedom League and ex-Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference while giving his reaction on a resolution of corridor and move to encourage religious tourism in Azad Kashmir, which amounts to create another Amarnath of greater threat on the territory of Azad Kashmir. If ever implemented, it will be the last ceremonial nail in the body dispute of Jammu and Kashmir, he said.

He called such proposals and resolutions complementary to burying the movement of Kashmir and farcical and misleading attempts of irresponsible politics, in the context of Indian government's ruthless campaign against the Kashmiri Muslims and Islam in both Kashmir and India. Instead, he suggested a rigorous and persistent campaign for the right of self-determination for the people of Kashmir before the UN Security Council.

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government should not waste its time in such activities, but instead the AJ&K Assembly should adopt a serious resolution on the deteriorated human rights situation across IIOJ&K and urge upon Pakistan to kick off an international campaign in the United Nations for the implementation of the right of self-determination and emphasize upon India to repeal all such laws in Jammu and Kashmir which were repugnant to the UN resolutions and rules and principles of the august world body and finally had obstructed the UN road-map towards a just and peaceful resolution of Kashmir.
