Eidul-Azha is the day of prophetic lesson of sacrifice, says Muhammad Farooq Rehmani

Islamabad, June 27: "Eidul-Azha reminds the faithful of the prophetic lesson of human history's greatest order of sacrifice that the most ideal family of Hazrat Ibraheem AS , taught and performed one after another to abide by the orders of Almighty Allah-- Father, son and mother turn by turn submitted before Allah to vibrate His
beaming message to humanity for generations to come till the day of Judgment", says Muhammad Farooq Rehmani Chairman J&K People's Freedom League and ex-Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJ&K in his message of congratulations on the eve of Haj, Qurbani and the greatest universal congregation in Arafat Mecca. He said the followers of the last Prophet (PbUH) thank Allah for having chosen to revive the message of Ibraheem and his family and gain the status as torch bearers of the Ibraheemi mission.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said the Muslims the world over were facing most hard and testing times due to the conspiracies of the enemies of peace and Islam, and only unity within and without can guarantee their victory against their adversaries.

He said the Muslims of the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir were passing horrible times because of the onslaught on their religious and demographic identity and the life of kashmiri leaders was under perpetual threat , while thousands of youth had already been kept behind bars without any justification whatsoever. He said hundreds of government employees had been terminated of their services and recently two doctors who had submitted an impartial and factual report on the tragic double rape and murder case of two abducted girls in Shopian as early as 2009 were dismissed after 15 years in a revengeful way. He stated Indian regime were continuously attaching immovable properties of the relatives of the pro- Hurriyat people by going against the rule of law. Referring to US-India Declaration, he  said it was an ugly development in the White House Washington D.C, when a lengthy military , economic and strategic package had unfolded between the US President and the Indian PM Modi, encouraging India to tighten its nose around the Indian Muslims, other minorities and around IIOJ&K to disregard human rights calls by the world HR bodies.
"America is coming closer to India in every respect to further the ulterior motives of India, and without underscoring its human rights record in India and JAMMU AND KASHMIR and it is the most dark chapter in their histories, when the world knows well that the same US had sponsored or advocated numerous resolutions on the issue of plebiscite in the State of Jammu and Kashmir ", emphasising that if the US wanted durable peace on Earth, India must be compelled to abide by the UN resolutions on Kashmir and every year Eid days in Kashmir must not be changed into days and nights of sufferings, mourning and suffocation. Islamophobia has not been condemned in the W.H statement, which will aggravate the region's polarised situation.

He welcomed a number of American Congress members for recording their dissent on US-India military treaties and its impact on peace in South Asia and hope that the saner and rational voices will prevail on irrational campaign in the regions of conflict and the UN will promote such overtures in line with its Charter and the relevant resolutions. Tribute to Nazir Ahmad Shah a great freedom fighter

Islamabad, June 15: Muhammad Farooq Rehmani Chairman J&K People's Freedom League and former Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference has paid glowing tributes to the struggle and sacrifice of Nazir Ahmad Shah shaheed commander of Jehad Force in 1993-1994.

He said that Shaheed Nazir Ahmad Shah was a leading freedom fighter during the 1980s and 1990s and had took over as the chief of Jehad Force, when its chief Abdul Khaliq Ghanai known as Jemal Afghani was martyred by the Indian occupation forces. His successor Nazir Ahmad Shah led the struggle of freedom successfully till he was nabbed and arrested by the Indian occupation forces and murdered in custody on 15 June 1994.

His martyrdom news had sent shock waves through out the Valley and people observed shutter-down for three days. It's shocking that today people are not permitted to offer prayers to these martyrs , but they are alive and inspire generations. In Kaloosa Bandipore, the martyred leader's kith and kin offered Fateh and recited Quran for the blessings of the departed soul.

In the meantime, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has castigated the Indian regime for their hegemony and repression over Kashmir, while the right of self-determination is UN guarenteed right to the people of Kashmir. The regime ruthlessly continued its illegal operations in all parts of the illegally Occupied State and the NIA through its raids and seizure of properties was refusing to abide by the international law.

He condemned NIA action Moulana Rehmtullah Qasmi patron of a religious seminary of North Kashmir at Bandipore. He said its implications can never be good for India, as such religious heads never took part in plitics

He demanded release of all political detenus from jail and the cases against all including Yasin Malik be withdrawn to pave wayfor a peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute through dialogue and international mediation with the stakeholders.

Seeking Death for Yasin Malik is a Grave Threat to Kashmir

Islamabad, May 27, 2023: Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People's Freedom League and ex-Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJK, today condemned the Indian National Investigation Agency's (NIA) demand for the death sentence for Yasin Malik, the incarcerated Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front.

"Seeking death for Yasin Malik is a grave threat to Kashmir and doesn't augur well for peace and peaceful ways of resolving the long-standing issue of Kashmir," said Rehmani. "The Indian leaders don't care for anything except choking Kashmir and sending the leaders to gallows. These are the most dark and ugly days of the Indian history."

Rehmani said that the Indian Hindutva regime wanted to kill and hang the Kashmiri leaders and even all the Muslims to implement its new settler-policy in Jammu and Kashmir for the benefit of non-Kashmiris and non-Muslims.

"Kashmir needs peace and Muhammad Yasin Malik stood for a peaceful resolution of the dispute in accordance with the wishes of all the Muslims and non-Muslims living in the State," said Rehmani.

He appealed to the UNHRC, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and Indian Human Rights activists believing in human rights to take note of the latest threat to the life of Yasin Malik by the NIA and take necessary measures to safeguard the incarcerated leader's life in Tihar Jail.

"We appeal to the international community to take notice of the Indian government's brutal crackdown on the Kashmiri people and its leaders," said Rehmani. "The Indian government must stop its repressive policies in Kashmir and start a dialogue with the Kashmiri people to resolve the Kashmir issue peacefully."

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani Expresses Gratitude for Non-Participants of G20 Tourism Meeting in Srinagar

Islamabad, May 23 (KMS): Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir People's Freedom League and former Convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), has expressed his gratitude to the People's Republic of China, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Republic of Turkey, People's Republic of Egypt, Sultanate of Oman, Republic of Indonesia, and Republic of Mexico for their decision to not send their delegations to the G20 tourism meeting in Srinagar.

In a message to the embassies and missions of these G20 member countries, Rehmani said that he prayed for and was grateful for their "high moral decision" to boycott the meeting. He said that the Indian government had "demolished Kashmir's indigenous personality" by implementing a "ruthless demographic change plan" and had "implemented draconian laws" that had kept thousands of people in jail. He also said that the Indian government was "hoodwinking the world opinion and UN Charter and relevant resolutions" by pretending to organize a tourism moot in the besieged and caged city of Srinagar.

Rehmani told the G20 countries that after the dismembering of the State in 2019 and revoking all its special status laws, India's activities in the name of tourism in Kashmir were "meaningless and fake" and that India, not Kashmir, was the beneficiary of tourism in Kashmir. He appealed to other members of the G20 to "think over the positive lines and boycott the moot" until India withdrew all its harsh laws, honored UN laws, and lifted all restrictions on Kashmiris to pave way for a just multiple dialogue on the future of Jammu and Kashmir.

Rehmani also cautioned against the consequences of secret surveillance groups around residential houses and large-scale arrests of people under fake criminal charges. He said that the people of Kashmir were in "great misery-unimaginable so far".

The G20 tourism meeting in Srinagar is scheduled to be held from May 22-24. The meeting is being organized by the Indian government and is expected to be attended by representatives from 17 G20 member countries. However, the decision of the six countries to not send their delegations to the meeting is a major setback for the Indian government.

The boycott of the meeting by these countries is a sign of growing international concern over the human rights situation in Kashmir. It is also a sign of the growing isolation of the Indian government on the Kashmir issue.

Islamabad, May 19, 2023: Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman J&K People's Freedom League and ex-Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJK chapter, has strongly condemned police raids on the house of detained leader of the APHC and vice-chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah in Srinagar and other people in civil areas ahead of Group-20 meeting, scheduled for 22 May 2023.

In a statement issued here, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said that India was pretending normality and peace in the Occupied region, which it never existed there. He said if it was peace, India should release thousands of political prisoners and leaders and revoke draconian laws from the besieged region and respect human rights and social and religious norms of the inhabitants.

He appealed to the G-20 countries to boycott the Srinagar meet of its group as long as India refused to grant the right of self-determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and respected basic human rights of the people.

Rehman said that the police raids and atrocities were a clear violation of human rights and international law. He said that the Indian government was trying to suppress the voice of the Kashmiri people who were demanding their right to self-determination.

He urged the international community to take notice of the situation in Kashmir and put pressure on India to respect the human rights of the Kashmiri people.

The raids and atrocities by the Indian forces in occupied Kashmir have been condemned by human rights groups and the international community. The United Nations has called on India to end its human rights abuses in Kashmir.Police Raids & Atrocities in Srinagar Condemned

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani applauds Pakistan Army Chief's reaffirmation of support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir

Islamabad, 1st May: Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman J&K People's Freedom League and ex-Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJ&K, has praised the Pakistan Army Chief General Syed Aasim Muneer's statement, which reiterates Pakistan's strong support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their fight for self-determination and pledge to safeguard Pakistan's sovereignty at all costs.

In light of the army chief's reassurance, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani expressed hope that the government will take all necessary international measures to thwart Indian attempts to alter the Muslim majority character of Jammu and Kashmir and seek practical assistance for implementing the UNCIP resolutions on Kashmir.

On the International Day of Labourers, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani also commemorated the sacrifices of the forgotten working class of Kashmiri Shalbafs (weavers). He recounted how at least 26 labourers were brutally repressed and tortured to death on 29 April 1865, for raising their voice and demanding wages for their work. Sheikh Gh. Rasool and Ali Baba were tortured to death inside the Shergarhi Palace Srinagar, while about 100 shalbaf labourers received serious injuries, and others, including Kuda Lal and Sona Shah as sympathizers, were imprisoned in the Baho Fort of Jammu.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani highlighted that the Shicago riots of workers for their fair working conditions are similar to the 1886 episode, but the comparable working-class tragedy has been neglected. He emphasized that, as the oppressed people of Kashmir, they equally commemorate both tragic events and urged the international community and the trade union movement to mark 29 April 1865 as an international day to remember the tragic conditions of Kashmiri laborers, peasants, and workers, that they were facing in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Eid Message Unites Muslims: Muhammad Farooq Rehmani

Islamabad, April 20: Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People's Freedom League and former Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJ&K Chapter, in his Eidul-Fiter Message today congratulated the Muslims and prayed for the unity of the Umma against all odds , Islamophobia menace, freedom of Kashmir, Palestine, Rohingya, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, India and wherever in the East or West, the Muslims were subjected to political or economic slavery, oppression and suppression .

He prayed to Allah to usher a new chapter of hope and success and stability for the Muslim countries to withstand every internal or external assault on their unity, stability, and sovereignty . Muslim nations and states be relieved of political, economic  and cultural and other mountainous threats and the Muslim world gain strength and prowess to defeat the war thrusted to deprive them of their economic growth and commercial and scientific advancements.

He condemned India's continued bloody war on Jammu and Kashmir Muslims majority character to suppress their peaceful struggle for the right of self-determination.

He appealed to the UN and other international forums to support their legitimate struggle and prevent it from changing the demography of the State in favour of a microscopic Hindu minority. He said the youth of Kashmir were arrested every day and lodged in different far-flung jails of India, while other leaders were facing life sentences in the Tihard jail on flimsy grounds.

He lamented that the present day Kashmir was a beautiful prison, surrounded by an iron curtain of over 9 hundred thousand military and paratroopers, the inhabitants inside the Occupied region were living a life of suffocation due to surveillance and restrictions on press and platform. " hundreds of media men, photo journalists and human rights activists are facing fake criminal charges in different jails ", he disclosed.

He stated the mental and physical condition of Jammu and Kashmir Muslims was worst under India's Hindutva regime, than to be described and the only way forward to avid a catastrophic war in the region was to begin an international dialogue to fulfill the international promises for the right of self-determination, of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

He demanded release of all the Kashmiri detainees and APHC leaders from the Indian jails and said that the restrictions on Jamia Masjid prayers and Mirwaiz Umer Farooq under house arrest be lifted and the earliest. The UN should play it's role in this regard.

He lamented over the plight of the Indian Muslims, where the Modi regime had begun a campaign of target killings of the Muslim leaders, while the lynching campaign of the Muslims at the mass level was already going on across the country. Under the given conditions, Indian Muslims needed all peaceful help from the world  ommunity to  secure their fundamental rights as citizens of the State. Pakistan under mutual understandings and relevant bilateral and UN assurances should take up tragic episodes with the Indian government and leave no stone unturned to save the future of about 215  Indian Muslims.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in his Eid message    referred equally to genocide of Palestinian Arabs in the Occupied Arab territories and Jerusalem and said latest cycle of killings of Palestinians and restrictions in the Al Aqsa Mosque on Palestinians by the Zionist regime was a brazen violation of the rights of the people of Palestine and the UN resolutions on Palestine. He said that Palestine belonged to the Arabs of the Palestine  and the only means to achieve peace in the ME was to restore an Independent state of Palestine.

He congratulated all the subjugated Muslims and paid tribute to the struggle of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Palestine, and others and also 215 million Indian Muslims,  who were offering great sacrifices for their basic rights under the Indian Constitution. He enjoined them and other oppressed minorities of India to get united under a common program to fight for their fundamental constitutional rights and be successful.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani condemns anti-Muslim violence in India and calls for UN intervention

Islamabad, April 17: Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman of the J&K People's Freedom League and ex-Convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJ&K, has stated that "Indian Muslims are being slaughtered like animals in their own homeland by the RSS gangs without any question by the world." Rehmani made these comments in a condemnation statement after the broad daylight and live TV murder of UP's four-time lawmaker Atiq Ahmad and his brother Ashraf Ahmad, who were being escorted for medical check-up hand-cuffed.

The assailant raised anti-Muslim slogans while the police failed to protect the two ex-lawmakers, claiming that the killers posed as journalists.

Rehmani warned that horrifying reports of anti-Muslim violence were coming daily from across India and Jammu and Kashmir. He further stated that on one hand, in the IIOJ&K, Kashmiris were targeted for demanding the right of self-determination, and demographic changes were made to change the Muslim majority character of the state. On the other hand, the fault of Indian Muslims was their belief in Islam.

Regarding the Pulwama attack of 2019, Rehmani stated that the revelations made by Satya Pal Malik, the former governor of the IIOJ&K, had vindicated Pakistan's stance and testified that the drama of Pulwama was a part of the terrorism bogey repeatedly used for enacting fake encounters against the youth of Kashmir.

Rehmani claimed that India was responsible for violating promises made with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and international humanitarian law. It had also failed to protect the rights of Indian Muslims according to the Nehru-Liaqat Pact. Therefore, under the given conditions, Pakistan should take the untoward situation of Indian Muslims to relevant international forums, and the right of self-determination should be once again raised in the UN.

He demanded that, in view of the horrifying picture of India, RSS members and sympathizers should not be allowed to enter Kashmir under any pretext. Rehmani expressed fear that RSS gangs could begin large-scale killing sprees with the help of the BJP government.

G-20 meeting has no relevance for Kashmir..(Muhammad Farooq Rehmani)

Islamabad, April 12: " It has always been noted and acknowledged by members of the world body that Kashmir is a disputed territory and its future has remain unsettled since, while the people of Jammu and Kashmir have been martyred in large numbers and thousands put behind bars during the last 32 years for rising peacefully against India's terror, tyranny and human rights atrocities in and along the besieged region of the Kashmiris, so there's is no sense in calling an international conference in the region, said

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman J&K People's Freedom League and ex-Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference to bring the disputed and volcanic situation of the region in focus. He said India was hoodwinking the world opinion, particularly the G-20 members for its nefarious regional designs and trying to convey the message that all was well in the IIOJ&K. The reality, he emphasised was totally different and the inhabitants of the area were under surveillance and siege from all sides; all basic civil rights and fundamental freedoms remain strangulated there , thousands were in jails all across India, press and platform was taboo for the people since the day of its merger with India in 2019. He stated India not only violated bilateral agreements with Pakistan but it did not abide by the two CHR Commission reports of 2018 and 2019 on Jammu and Kashmir and continued to ridicule and flouting the international law, UN resolutions on Kashmir and other international obligations with regard to suggestions for the solution of the dispute. India was following a catch and kill policy and search operations in Kashmir were carried out to terrorise the majority of the population and to detain young men in as many numbers as possible. He said, nobody was safe and police intelligence agencies were chasing youth with ill intentions in their mind. Students and youth affiliated with political parties or not or civilians were being targeted in every part of the IIOJ&K.

He appealed to the UN to take cognizance of the threatening situation of Kashmir and invoke its relevant resolutions and rules to give relief to the suppressed population of the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time he urged on the Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir (OiC), to call a conference on the latest developments , especially the G-20 meeting called by India in Srinagar , which was in total violation of the international resolutions as Kashmir was an internationally recognised dispute, he maintained.

Corridor & religious tourism misleading proposals on Kashmir.. Muhammad Farooq Rehmani

Islamabad: " when India has trampled all the principles of humanity in Kashmir, broken international laws and resolutions, brazenly changing the Kashmir history, demography, culture & religion, running a brutal campaign of killings and lynching against the Indian Muslim , demolishing mosques , erasing every vestige of Islam and Islamic history in the regions of Kashmir and India , perpetuating its ban on religious congratulations and prayers in Jamia-Mosque Srinagar and giving Hindutva goons liberty without licence to slaughter Muslims in the name of Gaow Mata Rekhsha( Cow protection) in India, what sense is there in religious tourism and corridor diplomacy along the LoC or in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, says Muhammad Farooq Rehmani Chairman J&K People's Freedom League and ex-Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference while giving his reaction on a resolution of corridor and move to encourage religious tourism in Azad Kashmir, which amounts to create another Amarnath of greater threat on the territory of Azad Kashmir. If ever implemented, it will be the last ceremonial nail in the body dispute of Jammu and Kashmir, he said.

He called such proposals and resolutions complementary to burying the movement of Kashmir and farcical and misleading attempts of irresponsible politics, in the context of Indian government's ruthless campaign against the Kashmiri Muslims and Islam in both Kashmir and India. Instead, he suggested a rigorous and persistent campaign for the right of self-determination for the people of Kashmir before the UN Security Council.

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government should not waste its time in such activities, but instead the AJ&K Assembly should adopt a serious resolution on the deteriorated human rights situation across IIOJ&K and urge upon Pakistan to kick off an international campaign in the United Nations for the implementation of the right of self-determination and emphasize upon India to repeal all such laws in Jammu and Kashmir which were repugnant to the UN resolutions and rules and principles of the august world body and finally had obstructed the UN road-map towards a just and peaceful resolution of Kashmir.

Congratulations on Pakistan Day in testing times: Muhammad Farooq Rehmani

Islamabad, March 22, 2023: " 23 March 1940, was a milestone in the historical freedom struggle of the South Asian Muslims, who under the dynamic political and sagacious leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah were victorious to achieve the goal of creating Pakistan, ending long trauma of 1957 Muslims' massacre by the British imperialist forces, says Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People's Freedom League and  Ex-Convener Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJ&K Chapter, on the eve of Pakistan Day to felicitate the people and the government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

He paid glorious tribute to the martyrs, Muhajireen, all the freedom-fighting Muslims , and leaders of the All India Muslim League–Quaid-e-Azam, Dr. Allama Iqbal, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, Liaqat Ali Khan and other front-ranking leaders of the Pakistan movement, who sacrificed every material benefit to support the Quaid in his relentless and successful struggle for creating a new state on the map of the world. He stated that the Pakistan fought and repulsed foreign Indian aggression and battled internal enemies during the last 75 years with the help of its people from every regional and ethnic group of the country but also supported the struggle of oppressed Kashmiri Muslims for their right of self-determination, Afghanistan independence struggle and played its role in overcoming international challenges to Islam and the Muslim cause of the world over.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said that the State was once again in economic turmoil and history's awful political instability but hoped that the leadership of all shades would demonstrate political wisdom to overcome odds in its way and defeat the overt and covert agenda of the enemy to harm Pakistan. He expressed the view that the political and economic stability was of paramount importance for thwarting India's settler-colonialism in Jammu and Kashmir and also saving the Indian Muslims from genocide and conversion to Hinduism. He stated that Pakistan in the current tumultuous situation was expecting a rebirth to defeat designs of its enemies and those of the enemies of Islam in the shape of Islamophobia.

Long live Pakistan
Long live Kashmir and its struggle for freedom and right of self-determination

The Kashmir left in grief & gloom by all deplores: Farooq Rehmani

Islamabad, March 04, 2023: "The entire IIOJ&K, has been forgotten and left lurching in grief & gloom by all, especially after an on slaught on its historical, geographical and cultural identity by a racist government of Delhi to pursue its obscurantist narrative and religious conspiracy against the majority Kashmiri Muslims, complaints Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman J&K People's Freedom League and ex-Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference on the latest revengeful political and economic regime of India in the disputed and rights- denied fragmented State of Jammu and Kashmir. He protested against denial of basic human rights, property rights, economic rights, employment rights and rights to live in their homes, own property, safeguard their inherited property and cultivate their own lands and orchards without any foreign or other illegal interference. But, their age old country law and inheritance law is being trespassed and violated by Indian authorities in the region, he alleged. Brutalities are perpetuated on all those whether owners of land or media men who claim their rights, advocate by press and try to protest against such oppressive measures by the regime agencies. He expressed surprise over the long silence of the United Nations, that had taken responsibility of the disputed territory under its provisions and in line with its unanimous resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir. He equally regretted apathetic trend of some major democracies and the Muslim countries who were duty-bound under the guide lines of Quran and Sunnat to take necessary steps to protect the lives and the properties of the subjugated and victimized Muslims in the world. He warned that the world body and other such institutions would lose their importance and unexpected war-flames could engulf the countries fighting for their hegemony.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani condemned enforced disappearance of a Kashmiri youth in Kunan-Poshpora, Abdul Rashid Dar whose mutilated dead body was recovered from the Zurhama forests after about 3 months of his arrest by the army. He said termination of services of employers on fabricated grounds from their offices, demolishing of houses in the name of so- called encroachment policy and seizure and attachment of houses or shops of legal owners by the Indian government in the Occupied State and arresting and detaining and moreover denying the Kashmiri inmates their right to be free from jails even after decades. He said that the magnitude of brutalities, and use of other inhuman laws on the Kashmiris in the Valley and Jammu speaks a lot and must be addressed by the UN at the earliest. In case of failure to take action by the UN, he feared that the entire population of Kashmiri Muslims was in perpetual threat. On the issue of Kashmiri Pundits, he said a peaceful coexistence and religious and cultural toleration between communities was a firm tradition of the past and the same could no less guarantee their mutual future. But both communities should work for harmonious relations inside Kashmir and never be swayed by mischievous propaganda and raise voice against acts of terror on each other.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani urged on the civil society of Pakistan especially legal fraternity and the Human Rights activists to take note of the malicious intentions of the BJP regime about the Kashmiri Muslim inmates presently in different jails of India, were not allowed to see the light of the day and their parents may long for them as free citizens of their country. The racist regime, he said, has the plan to change the demography of Kashmir in its favor within next few years. Therefore, under the developing situation in Kashmir and Delhi corridors of power, there is no room left for any complacency, Delhi must be emphasized to repeal all inhuman laws including the 5 August proclamation of 2019 from the Occupied region of Jammu and Kashmir. #End

UN, WHO, appealed to prevail on PM Modi's obduracy & fascism.. M Farooq Rehmani

UN, WHO, appealed to prevail on PM Modi's obduracy & fascism.. M Farooq Rehmani
Islamabad, May 01: Undoubtedly, it is proved that the Prime minister of India, Narendra Modi's policy of holding election rallies and permission to  Kumbh mela, pilgrimages of Hindus in times of global pandemic created unfortunate and horrific death scenes across India, threatening billions of lives all over the Asian continent. Now, Mr. Modi has allowed thousands of Hindu pilgrims to begin their Amarnath Yatra from India to Jammu and Kashmir . The Indian Government has ignored all Covid- hazard warnings at a time when naked dance of Covid deaths have engulfed India and thousands of human lives are seen daily on shamshan gaths and graveyards after having surrendered before the Novel Coronavirus miserably and helplessly.
Therefore, under the current hazardous pandemic conditions, when the Covid has wreaked havoc, the UN and the WHO  should force the Modi regime to stop all pilgrimages especially including the Amarnath Yatra to Jammu and Kashmir , cancel election gatherings etc.,  and release all Kashmiri political detainees held in different Indian jails or police centres and stop further arrests of political workers across the State of Jammu and Kashmir to save innocent human lives from global pandemic.
The UN and the WHO should urge Indian Government to give first and foremost importance to healthcare and life of the people and stop playing with the life of human beings in these worst times of Coronavirus by framing and executing criminal charges to act upon political vendettas against its opponents.
India's surge in Covid cases and deaths has enormous repercussions for Pakista also because both are close neighbors and there are other negative aspects of the problem. Novel virus from some other vulnerable countries has been detected in this country. Reportedly, with a national positivity rate of 10pc and an average of over 150 daily deaths this week, non- compliance of SOPs , loopholes in lockdowns warn us that the coming weeks are critical for Pakistan. Hence , the Government and the people should take the hazard seriously and individually and collectively encourage the anti-virus campaign according to the international WHO standards while the State must pool her resources to ensure health care, scientific support and research on the lines and footsteps of the scientifically advanced nations of the world . Nature's warnings and virus surge teach us that scientific research and knowledge in the field of medicine and health is important than anything for a modern state. Pakistan must learn this lesson-- the sooner the better.

Tribute to Abdul Khaliq Ganai Shaheed & associates of 1990s by Muhammd Farooq Rehmani .

Islamabad, December 15:  The Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People's Freedom League has paid rich tributes to a renowned and leading commander and leader of the 1980s and 1990s freedom uprising, Abdul Khaliq Ganai (nom de jure Jamal Afghani)
Of J&K Jihad Force(renamed Al Fatah Force in 1994), who was arrested in Kupwara and martyred in custody 0n 15 December 1993, after spending his youth in organising the people of Kashmir for the cause of freedom and right of self-determination from 1970s to 1990s. Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said that he( Jemal) was a great patriot who spread the message of liberation everywhere and was so popular for his simplicity and sincerity that thousands of people joined his funeral at Bandipore and life remained paralyzed for 3 days across Kashmir. He equally remembered associates of the martyred commander who were martyred in the succeeding months and years in encounters or police custody. In connection with his 27th martyrdom anniversary, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani expressed his firm faith in the support of Allah and tireless struggle of the people despite the fearful odds before them. He strongly condemned all illegal and undemocratic measures taken by India to wipe out the State and eliminate the majority Muslim population of the Kashmiris. He stated that Indian sponsored local elections were farcical and cunning to handover grassroots to the extremist BJP to impose Hindutva agenda on the people of J&K. He strongly condemned ongoing arrests of youth, killings of innocents, long detentions of APHC and other leaders including the current raids by police in Batmalnah Srinagar and arresting of Mushtaqul Islam a veteran resistance leader of Kashmir.
Muhammad Farooq Rehmani called upon the UN and EU to depute their teams to the besieged State where the occupation Indian forces were ruling the roost and the people would further lose their faith in the world body due disillusionment caused by the UN negligence of Jammu and Kashmir.

Articles 370 & 35A

By Muhammad Farooq Rehmani

Like every politically conscious and sensitive nation, Kashmir has been brought up in the lap of nationalism and India's independence leaders and constitutional experts in order to appease them, called it their sub nationalism. During days of Pakistan movement zealous religious campaign in the sub continent and proclamation of Pakistan and India as two independent and sovereign states, the majority of Jammu and Kashmir showed tendency towards Pakistan or an independent state. But, Indian leadership's successful political and military crackdown and maneuvering, aerial invasion coupled with Lord Mount Baton's total support, won the jewel of Kashmir for Delhi. Sheikh Abdullah and his National Conference played decisive role and then Hindu Ruler of the State Hari Singh despite his other leanings is believed to have written a provisional instrument of accession to the Governor General of India. However, India took the armed intervention of Western tribes men against Pakistan to the UN Security Council, which adopted numerous resolutions of peace and plebiscite to ascertain wishes of the State people on their future affiliation with Pakistan or India. Since ceasefire of 1948 between Pakistan and India, the people of this State have been offering great sacrifices of life, honour ,property and birth place from jammu to Kargil. Sheikh Abdullah and his comrades who had supported and endorsed accession to India in 1947, later disillusioned with it and led a vigorous campaign for plebiscite in Jk in and outside of jails from 1953 to 1975, when in 1975, he and his colleagues again embraced power under Beig-Parthasarthy agreement in Delhi. They were reassured of continuity of Article 370 , which otherwise comes under heading of temporary articles of the Indian constitution.

The powerful freedom movement of Jammu and Kashmir never in history showed any love for this special provision of the Indian constitution, rather freedom fighters passed ridiculous remarks on it and everytime raised quit India slogans. Today it has become hallmark of struggle against India in the State. Rather 370 has become synonymous with freedom and independence for all and sundry in length and breadth of the State. After all what's is the significance of Article 370 and 35A? How and why it suddenly ascended to such popularity and speciality among the people of JK from Jammu to Kargil, when it doesn't grant the right to freedom and independence. But, at least these abolished articles of the Indian Constitution ensured hundreds of years old religious and cultural demographic character of JK , which otherwise can be destroyed by Hindutva aggressive campaign of the Indian BJP. Given lynching methods of the RSS under the Modi regime, many ethnic groups in India such as Dalits, Sikhs, Christians and others support and share concern and demands of the people of JK, who endure and resist the worst ever lockdown and curfew of the history of jammu and Kashmir. I have tried to study and analyse in depth Indian and Kashmiri writers on the subject. I studied views of a Kashmiri writer MK Teng on political and constitutional crisis and Article 370 and summarized their writings on the subject.
Basic analytical study of 370 and 35 A, signifies that when Maharaja Hari Sing acceded to India on 26 October 1947, he ceded to the Indian Government , powers with regard to the subjects, the other states had delegated to India. The subjects were listed in the schedule attached to the so called Instrument of Accession and included:
1) Defense 2) External affairs 3)Communications 4) Election to the Indian legislature
The State was reserved powers in regard to all the residuary subjects & the terms of the Instrument of Accession were not to be altered by any subsequent amendment of the Indian Independence Act, unless such an amendment was accepted by the Ruler of the State by a supplementary Instrument.
Hari Singh didn't commit himself to accept any future constitution of India. However he reserved the right to enter into agreements with the GOI under any future constitution of India."
The NC leaders while supporting the Accession with India presumed that with the lapse of the British Paramountcy the prescriptions which had been imposed by the British Crown on the sovereignty of the State had terminated. To that extent the Conference leaders reiterated the stipulations of the Cabinet Mission Plan , which underlined restoration of sovereignty to the states after the paramountcy was withdrawn. An important issue stressed by the NC leaders was that they refused to accept the secular integration of the State in India. They claimed that the J&KState was a Muslim majority State and as such could be placed in the Indian political organisation on the basis of communal balance, as a separate and autonomous political entity…". M.K.Teng
In this state of affairs and after the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah the PM, in an interview with an English newspaper paper, Scottsman" pleaded for independence of the State from both India and Pakistan to live in peace and friendship with both of them.
In May 1949, Delhi Conference was held between the Indian and NC leaders. Here the Kashmiri leaders refused to accept the inclusion of the State in the territorial jurisdiction and constitutional organisation of India. Furthermore the NC leaders expressed strong reservations about the transfer of the State army to the Union and demanded the restoration of the State army to the interm Government of Sheikh Abdullah.
Thus the leadership & the interm Government of the NC underlined the following bases for the constitutional organisation of the State & its constitutional relations with India:
1) A separate constituent Assembly for the State,
2)Abolition of Dogra Dynasty rule,
3) Transferring of powers to the Interm Government ,
4) Constitutional relations be stipulated by the Instrument of Accession, subject to modifications by the Interim Government;
5) The residuary powers would be vested with the State Government;
6) the provisions of the Constitution of India except the stipulations of the Instrument of Accession would not apply to JK;
7) the control over the State army would be restored to the State Government;
8) the existing financial relations between the State and the GOI would continue.
The Indian Government didn't approve of the position taken by the NC leaders but Nehru the PM of India pleaded for the formulation of a uniform Bill of rights for all the people in India, including the people of the J&K.
The Indian Government didn't accept the contention of the NC leaders in regard to the State army and an agreement was finally reached between them which among other things envisaged that the President of India would be vested with the powers to modify or terminate the operation of the specific provisions of the Constitution of India in regard to the Jammu and Kashmir State, on the recommendations of the Constituent Assembly of the State.
But a day after the Delhi Conference Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah raised issues & sought fresh clarification from the Indian leaders which included among other things the control of the State Forces & rights of the citizens for service in the State army. Indian authorities claim " the NC leaders including Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, Mirza Afzal Beg &Maulana Masoodi who had negotiated the agreement with the central leaders in May at Delhi, tacitly agreed with the views that the State should not be brought within the territorial jurisdiction of the proposed Union of India or its constitutional organisation & the Muslim majority character of the State should form the basis of the relations between the State and India. " They evolved fresh proposals and decided to repudiate the May agreement with Delhi. But didn't apprise the central leaders of their views till the draft provisions of the Constitution of India were drawn up & sent to the Conference leaders for their approval. The draft provisions were enshrined in draft Article 306 A of the Constitution of India. The Article stipulated among other things that the President of India would be empowered to modify, restrict or suspend the operation of the provisions of Article 306-A,on the recommendations made by the the Constituent Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir State(vi)." The working Committee of the NC in several sessions examined the draft, refused to approve, and disapproved of the preamble to Article 306-A, which stipulated that the provisions of the Article would be of a transitional nature & would be subject to modification by the Constituent Assembly of the State. On October 12,1949,Sheikh Abdullah communicated to Gopalaswami Ayanger the decisions of the Working Committee. This time Nehru was away in the USA to deal with the problem at the Security Council, when Ayangar redrafted the provisions of the Article 306A, restricting the application of the Constitution of India to the State to Article 1,which defined the territories of the Union, and Indian citizenship. But the revised draft of Article 306 A was also rejected by Sheikh Abdullah and his colleagues. He sent an alternative draft to Ayangar. Again a fresh draft in consultation with Afzal Beg was drafted by Ayangar .The revised draft of Article 306-A was circulated in the Constituent Assembly on 16 October, 1949. Many members of the Constituent Assembly objected to the explanation defining the Government of the State. Ayangar modified the explanation & informed the Conference leaders about the modifications in the explanation on the morning of 17 October 1949. The Conference leaders refused to approve of the modification Ayangar had made. Unable to bring round the Conference leaders, Ayangar presented the draft Article 306-A to the Constituent Assembly for its consideration. The Conference leaders sulked away, joined the debate only after Ayangar's half of the speech with grim silence. The NC leaders didn't rise to speak & didn't move any amendment to the draft. They had been provided opportunity for it by the House. The draft was adopted by the Assembly without any dissent. The NC leaders were bitter at the turn the events had taken and Ayangar was sore at the treatment he got from the Conference leaders. They exchanged letters of complaints and grievances from each other. However, at the revision stage, Article 306-A was renumbered Article 370 of the Constitution of India . On 25 November, 1949,the Regent of the State, Karan Singh, by a proclamation ordered that the relations between the State and the Union of India be governed by the Constitution of India. It superseded & abrogated all other constitutional provisions inconsistent with it which were in force in the State. On 26 January 1950, the Constitution of India came into force.
In accordance with the special provisions embodied in Article 370 of the Constitution of India, the J&K State was exempted from the application of the provisions of the Constitution of India dealing with the States in Part B of its First Schedule. No other provisions of the Constitution of India except Article 1was made applicable to J&K. An interesting aspect of the Article 370was that it envisaged a perpetual Constituent Assembly in the State, at least so long as the transitional provisions remained on the Statute Book. Article 370 is the basis of the Article 35 A. Both have been repealed and abolished on 5 August, 2019, by the Parliament under the Modi regime with malicious intent to change the Muslim majority character of the occupied State. Kashmir history's dark lockdown and curfew has been clamped on the inhabitants of the occupied region which seems unending and brutal. Let us examine the abolished Article 35 A :-

"Article 35A of the Indian Constitution was an article that empowered the Jammu and Kashmir state's legislature to define "permanent residents" of the state and provide special rights and privileges to those permanent residents. It was added to the Constitution through a Presidential Order, i.e., The Constitution (Application to Jammu and Kashmir) Order, 1954 – issued by the President of India on 14 May 1954, under Article 370. The state of Jammu and Kashmir defined these privileges to include the ability to purchase land and unmovable property, ability to vote and contest elections, seeking government employment and availing other state benefits such as higher education and health care. Non-permanent residents of the state, even if Indian citizens, were not entitled to these 'privileges'.

On 5 August 2019, the President of India issued a Presidential Order, whereby all the provisions of the Indian Constitution are to apply to the State without any special provisions. This would imply that the State's separate Constitution stands abrogated, including the privileges allowed by the Article 35A. By abolishing the special provisions, India has not only violated it's own Constitution but the President's order is a gross and flagrant violation of the international resolutions and pledges of plebiscite with the Kashmiris during the past 70 years. The Modi regime has committed a heinous crime by resorting to worst type of lockdown and curfew against 8 million people. It deserves international punishment for crimes and crisis in Jammu, Kashmir, Kargil and Ladakh for war against humanity. The world should act before it is too late.

Note:I hope you all friends to study it and give your opinion on the subject.

India’s Republic Day is black day for Kashmiris: Farooq Rehmani

ISLAMABAD : Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People's Freedom League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has strongly condemned the Indian troops brutal cordon and search operations, killing, restrictions and large scale arrests of Hurriyat leaders, ahead of their Republic Day in Kashmir, which the Kashmiris observe as a black day every year across the territory.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement in Islamabad said that the Indian troops military operations, NIA actions on Hurriyat leaders and killing innocent people of Jammu and Kashmir to stop peaceful protest demonstrations on 26 January, itself is testimony that Indian regime is failed and frustrated in front of peoples struggle of self-determination.<!--more-->

He said that like the so-called accession by the fugitive Dogra Maharaja of the State in October 1947, the constitution of India was forced on the territory on 26 January 1950.

Although India, he recalled, had herself gone to UN to seek the opinion of the World Body and the later had urged the parties to hold referendum on the future status of J&K under the auspices of the United Nations. Therefore, India had no mandate to bring the State under the umbrella of its constitution.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said that India followed undemocratic and repressive ways and means since the very day of annexation of the State. He pointing out that India's accesses on the Kashmiri people is responsible for martyring millions of the Muslims across Jammu and Kashmir during the past 68 years.

"The killings by Indian troops in Kashmir continue to increase and there is no sign that India is willing to accept any peaceful negotiated settlement of the dispute with Pakistan and the Kashmiris," he remarked.

He strongly condemned the killing of three youth including a teenage boy Sharik Ahmad Mir and injuring of several girls critically in a brutal military operation in Shopian yesterday. He paid rich tributes to them and express sympathy to their families. He also paid glowing tributes to martyrs of Handwara massacre in 1990; day back in 1990 Indian troops martyred 55 Kashmiris in Handwara.
